New Blog Experiment!

Okay, the new idea hit me like a ton of bricks today and I just HAD to start the group ASAP! The details are coming, but for now this is what you need to know:

This is going to boost your readership. As with all of my projects, its a give/get thing. You'll 'get' more readers, but you have to 'give' alittle. Here's a sneak peak!

When an esteemed friend or colleague recommends a restaurant, or a book, or a wine (basically anything), you are more inclined to try it yourself, right? RIGHT!

What about when one of the blogs your read regularly recommends that you check out another blogger's link? Do you ever check it out and follow the link they provide? Of course you do! This is how we find blogs we like!!

So, (and remember I haven't worked out the details yet) my idea is this: blogs participating will commit to writing blog posts that recommend other blogs that are participating in this experiment! Following me? Here's an example (and I'm going to use Chic Galleria, just cuz she popped into my head):

If I write a blog post about Chic Galleria and why I love that site and go to it frequently (and provide lots of link-love), then my whole readership will more than likely take the bait and check out Chic Galleria! Since my readers are like me, it stands to reason that they may like the same things I like, right?

Its like writing positive reviews for each other in the hopes that our own personal readership will venture out and maybe find a cool new blog! Now, don't get all crabby thinking that you might be sending away your own readership! Au contraire, mon frair! They will love you for the recommendation!

Anyone want to take the lead? The idea was this: everyone in each category would essentially 'review' (all positive please) each others blog with at least 2 links to it, so that you might drive some of your readers to another participant's blog..

See, I don't think that by reading someone else's, that they will stop reading yours. Its not like taking pieces away from the pie, the idea here is that we'd be growing the pie for everyone! I know that I love to read blogs that appeal to me, the more the merrier!

However, I'm just too busy to organize this right now. If anyone wants to, HAVE AT IT! I know you want to get started and I apologize for being spread too thin.
