Deb Gatta Tempered by God.

Greetings friends, It's been quite a whirlwind week. Every one is so busy! The Holidays add so much to our list of responsibilities. The days get busy, people become less pleasant. There are Holiday events, concerts, parties, many time commitments. People get frazzled, stressed as they rush through the stores and parking lots. It is easily seen in the expressions of shoppers, cashiers and store personnel. Rush, rush, hurry hurry, with my own list of "things to do"....there were days that my he… Continue

Brandy H We will call this chapter, "Buttless Pantyhose"

Yep, you read that right – stop and think about that for a second while tilting your head to side giving your monitor the ‘dog head.’ (So cute when my 4-legged baby boys look at me as if to say, “Huh?”) Ten minutes late and every single second counts – every 30 seconds puts me behind yet another school bus that stops roughly every 10 yards because children/teens of today would never exert any energy to actually congregate together at one driveway or corner. And then that stop takes an additiona… Continue

Brandy H Musicals kinda ROCK!

I haven't seen a play of any kind in so long, I forgot how entertaining they can be.... Hubbie and I cruised into Madville to see the Madville Community Theater Group put on a Suessical today and it was such a great time!! For those that don't know (I didn't before today) a Seussical is a musical about Dr. Suess's stories - tying several together and adding a little modern day flare. There were some younger performers there - probably high schoolers - and I could not believe the talent!! They re… Continue

Deb Gatta When & Where did we loose it???

I hope that you will enjoy this post. From my blog. Written in particular for "girl friends". Women are busy and seldom take time to hang out w/ their girl friends. I hope that this article will inspire you as you reach out to others...thinking about women and their needs. As we made the guest list, planned the menu, selected new music I never dreamt that my 9 year olds "end of school year BFF party" was going to be such an eye opening experience for me. The girls arrived one @ a time...gree… Continue

Casey Roon de Pacheco Monday Monday... [be] good to me...

I have had the Beatles on the brain lately. No, I have never been a Beatles fan but have started thinking about them lately since my son has started watching Jonas. The Jonas Brothers sing a song about falling in love with the pizza girl that sounds strangely like the Beatles to me... Monday, Monday... I know I took liberties with the title, I know the REAL WORDS to the song, but I changed them. Yep, I did. Anyways, big day ahead. BIG! Cross you fingers and send positive thoughts my way, will… Continue

Tania Well here it is May already!

OK - Where has all the months gone since I wrote my last post?? I can't believe looking back just how much I have done since then!! Long gone are the boxes and the unpacking after the move, mum and Graeme have returned home (and now also moved house themselves just last week!) and I've been to Europe for 7 weeks.... So - where to start? I will have to add a few photos I think from the European vacation (sounds like a Chevy Chase movie!) to go along with the blog. I had an absolutely fantastic t… Continue

Brandy H No Sleepie for Brandy!

What is it about my husband being gone that keeps me up at night? Totally annoying. I really want to be that independent, fearless female - kicking life's butt at every turn, unscathed by the most vicious gossip queens, whiniest children or laziest of men, but.... when you take a peek inside my fortress with it's alligator-infested moat you will see me, sitting with my PC typing vigorously, pausing to listen to the rustle outside fearing only the worst of course (that's right, I was traumatized… Continue

Deb Gatta Making time for FUN....

During a recent move or over haul of my office I found a amongst the many boxes a "true treasure". I found a box of joy, smiles, pure delight. When first opening the box...memories came flooding to my mind. The people, the places, sights & sounds. The box was filled w/ MUSIC from a decade in which I recall some of the most wonderful times in my life. I scrambled to find a boom box... now dating myself. I couldn't wait to begin to play and take the unplanned care- free journey back in time.… Continue

SignatureSterling If Dad Was on Facebook

The two weeks have been incredibly difficult and full of shock ~ a very sudden illness took my father from us and this past weekend we celebrated his life. Family and friends gathered from around the country to remember, to celebrate Jack - a true tribute to his legacy. This is what had been "rolling around in my head" (no doubt my muse was Dad himself) and what I shared at the service... http://signature-sterlContinue

Casey Roon de Pacheco Barter and Trade idea for Biz Owners

Hi ladies! I know I have been MIA lately, and it has been weighing on my conscience! I am sorry! I have my hands deep into several dozens of projects and there are just so many hours in each day, you know? However, I want to say thank you for being here and thank you for contributing. We have some 'regulars' that always check in and post something here and there, and I thank you for that. I'm hoping that some of you that haven't been around the site in awhile will take a stroll around and comm… Continue

lee Passion

Ever find that one thing that truly makes your heart sing? The one activity that you can absolutely do by yourself, with friends, and your heart soars? For me, it's biking. I enjoy biking beyond belief. It gives me such a strong, powerful, free feeling. I can ride for 10 mins or 10 hours and I love it. It's one of my passions. No matter what mood I'm in, I can bike, and I feel refreshed, like somehow doing that one activity took every concern away from me and I can start over, with everything. I… Continue

lee Bootstraps

You know how people say to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps?" It's a good 'ole saying, but I thought a lot about that saying this morning as I was working out. So many people pull themselves up by the bootstraps, prove they can do whatever it is they put their mind to, which is an awesome feat. I started thinking more about those people, as I was one of those people once. Funny thing about pulling yourself up your bootstraps is that typically it's an act you perform completely alone. You put… Continue

Gabrielle Krake Plant Sale!

I have always been an entrepreneur. I had lemonade stands, junk sales & I drew pictures that my mom would let me take into her work and sell to her colleagues. When I was thirteen, my parents had a big yard sale, when I started to see the cash roll in, I decided to get in on the a… Continue

lee A Strangers Impact

An interesting thing happened to me on my last business trip. I was in Boston working with a client and after a long day I was just hanging out in my room flipping through the channels. I came across a movie called Taking Chance on HBO that caught my attention. It was about a Marine who was responsible for bringing the remains of a fellow soldier named Chance Phelps to his family in Montana. The journey of these two soldiers was nothing short of inspirational. The obvious inspiration was that Ch… Continue
